Colour Reflexology

We all enjoy colour in our everyday lives, the soft orange glow of a beautiful sunset, a clear blue sky on a summer's day, or a double rainbow filling the sky after the rain. The colours around us can have a profound impact on our wellbeing and we are drawn to certain colours in the clothes we wear and how we decorate our homes.

I have completed the nationally accredited colour reflexology diploma with Suzy Chiazzari.

The course combines the subtle healing power of reflexology with colour therapy through the feet and hands. These are based on the principle that the body's energetic system is kept in balance by the flow of energy through the meridians (in the Chinese energy system) and the chakras (in the Indian Ayurvedic health system). This energy of white light is made up of the various colours of the rainbow and corresponds to the different organs, glands and body systems. Colour reflexologists use the application of colour to help restore balance in the body.

Reading the Feet

This course offered an insightful way of enhancing a reflexology treatment by highlighting wellbeing issues. The characteristics of feet provide valuable clues as to inner physical and emotional needs and provide potential for personal development and growth.

Foot Tapping Reflexology (FTR levels 1&2)

Some of you may have heard about the Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as EFT. I have attended a unique reflexology course by Peter Tomlinson which incorporates a foot tapping technique into reflexology treatments to help release emotional blocks.

Cancer Care

I have participated in a course specialising in reflexology for people with cancer with Marie Duggan. Reflexology is a complementary therapy which has been offered on the NHS for a number of years for cancer care. The course was invaluable in updating me on current thinking and techniques that are helpful for people experiencing cancer and undergoing conventional treatments.

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage

I have trained with Sally Kay who is nationally recognised for developing specific techniques for lymphatic drainage via the feet. While the aim of the protocol is to reduce secondary lymphoedema in the arm following treatment for breast cancer, early indications suggest that the techniques may be helpful for other conditions, such as Fibromyalgia, M.E., Rheumatoid Arthritis and other inflammatory auto-immune disorders and premenstrual fluid retention.

Maternity Reflexology

I have attended a nationally recognised two day workshop focusing on reflexology in pregnancy with Sally Earlam.

  • Reading the feet with Chris Stormer and Dr Ann Hodson
